I'm Back! New Party Sets, shop sale and birthday competition!

Goodness, it's been a long time since I last posted. I haven't been very active on the blogs lately as I've had some health issues to deal with. I don't want to bore you too much, but I know many in the crafting community have health issues or care for some one who does so I'll briefly explain what's been going on. I was diagnosed with a condition called temporomandibular joint dysfunction(TMJD) - which for me means the disc between the upper and lower jaw bones is displaced and damaged and so the bones rub together and the disc stops me from being able to open my mouth very wide. 2 months ago I had a terrible couple of hours of pain and from that I have been told that the swelling from my jaw is compressing some nerves (occipital and trigeminal) so I get pain from that too. Luckily, I have still been able to design and I've managed a few party sets since I last posted.
I have been working with some beautiful new watercolour graphics recently and have 2 sets made with them and many more planned for the future.
I'll start with the most recent set, which I designed last week as it's great for Valentine's day, as well as for birthdays, engagement parties, anniversaries and even weddings.

Above is a lovely A4 print I made to go along with the party set or just to decorate your home.

Boredom Buster Mission File

Well, I've been away for such a long time again due to illness and the trails of being mum to an autistic child who has just finished primary school!! It's summer holidays now and as usual the kids wander round looking like lost little puppies being bored (either that or they're glued to either their phone or ipad!!).
So I came up with a new idea to give them stuff to do. This mission file is aimed at older kids. I would recommend 9 and up but it depends on your kids really.

There are 20 missions included in the file and they vary in style and length of time it should keep them busy for. For some of the missions they may need some adult help but again, this will depend on the age and ability of your children.

I have to say that this might not be for everyone! I made them up for my kids and Theo (12 and autistic) moaned about it for about 2 hours and then put it in the bin!! I guess you can't please everyone! I offered a reward at the bottom for them once they had completed the mission. My first reward was a movie night at home with their favourite snacks.
Anyway, I hope this mission file might be of some use to you and your kids. And it doesn't have to just be for the summer holidays, they can do them at weekends and during other holidays!

#23 Glitter Glasses

I absolutely love glitter! I have it in all different colours! Last year I helped the kids make glitter glasses for their teachers at the end of term so I can tell you that's it's great fun and not too difficult to get simple results. You basically just need some Mod Podge, glitter and a paint brush. We used the Mod Podge to seal our glasses but in this tutorial they use a sealant instead.

I would to learn more about photography and this series looks pretty good.

This scarf looks pretty awesome and there's absolutely no sewing involved! Looks like a great way to re-use an old T-shirt and liven up your wardrobe! 

#29 Orange Candles

Keep the bugs away during the summer months with these cheap and easy to make citronella candles.

You could use other things as a container too but the orange rinds do look kinda cute don't they?

#30 Glitter Clothes Pin Magnets

These are really easy to make and will quickly spice up your memo boards or fridge door. Get the know how here.
